The importance of literacy and phonics is crucial for our little ones. It is the stepping stone for them to learn how to form words, the sounds words make, and then move on to the reading stage. Which is where the foundation of learning phonics can all be put into practice and develop a love of reading.

What is phonics?

Phonics is the beginning stage of a kids reading journey. When kids learn phonics they are basically learning to sound out the words in order to make it easier for them to be able to read in the future. By learning phonics kids can study the sounds that the words make and also learn the sounds that differentiate one word from another word. All in all phonics is a great approach for children in early years and pre-school to begin their reading journey.
