World Book Day Activities: Dr Seuss reading challenge bookmarks and certificate

We are prepping you all for World Book Day today, with some lovely World Book Day activities for the kids. Everyone thinks of World Book Day ideas around costumes, but what about the activities that encourage reading for kids?

We already have a few reading challenges on the site, including a magazine reading challenge, and another one focused on one of our online reading challenge partners, Sooper Books.

For this activity, which is free when you are a member of the Time to Pee club, we are giving you some World Book Day activities to get kids to read. We all love Dr Seuss’ books, so we have some bookmarks for you for some of the most popular titles.

These will track the progress your children are making with reading, so you can then give them a certificate for what they have managed to read on World Book Day.

Why not join the premium site, and download this pack for free today?

What is included within the World Book Day Activities pack?

This pack has 3 pages of bookmarks for some of the most popular Dr Seuss books including:

If you don’t have them all, why not check them out on the links above?

Inside each book mark is a little section for your young readers to use to record when they have read the particular book that bookmark is for.

They can fill them in as they read the books, and use the bookmarks while they read them, and keep them for all the other books they are going to read later after being inspired by Dr Seuss!

How to make your bookmarks?

The bookmarks are pretty straightforward to mark and use:

  • Cut out the bookmarks for the books you are reading, or you want to read,
  • Laminate the bookmarks so they last a bit longer,
  • Score along the white section within the base of the bookmark,
  • Slide the page you are on between the larger section in the base to mark where you are in the book you are reading. Done!

Once you have read as many of the books as your children, or class want to, then why not give them their Dr Seuss Superstar certificate from the pack?

You can even get them to fit out the faces at the top of the certificates with whatever they want. Perhaps a picture of themselves, or even The Lorax!

To download this pack just make sure you sign up for our premium site to free, and then you can download it – also completely free!
