World Book Day is upon us in the UK, but that shouldn’t mean that we are focused on reading for just this week, oh no. Reading should be in our thoughts and minds everyday. We have scoured the internet for some great reading quotes, and quotes about books so that you can decorate classrooms, libraries and even the kids bedroom with some inspiring ideas about the written word. There have been many famous authors that have told the story of reading, and explained the value of a book, and it was rather hard to come up with our favourite five reading quotes for World Book Day, but we did it. We chose:
- “Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.” from Emily Buchwald
- “so please, oh please, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away and in its place you can install, a lovely bookcase on the wall” from Roald Dahl…
- “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” from Frederick Douglass
- “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn the more places you’ll go from the wonderful Dr Seuss. And if you love Dr Seuss, we have some Wocket in my Pocket activities, as well as a collection of Dr Seuss activities for you to look at elsewhere on the site
- “You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax all you need is a book.” from Dr Seuss again – you guessed it!
If you can’t find something that is perfect for what you need there, you never will!
