Free back to school signs to print out today

Back to school, or indeed, going to school for the first time, is a big thing in a child’s life. After the summer holidays off; some are eager to go back, and some couldn’t think of anything worse! We have got a little set of goodies for you for free to help ease kids into that back to school feeling with these back to school signs and activities for them to print out. You can use these as a classroom, or print them at home as a parent / carer to get the kids in the mood for school again. Don’t forget to check out our other back to school resources on the site while you are here.

Our back to school signs are perfect for both US, UK, and global markets – as long as they are English speaking – as we have both Class and Grade included signs.

What do the back to school signs look like

Before we share the signs with you, above is the title page, and a little activity to go with the signs that you can do at home, or in the classroom. This is a lovely idea for the kids to think about before they go to school, or in groups along with their classmates.

We have asked for your kids to come up with a few ideas and information about themselves to go along with the back to school signs:

  • Name plate at the top,
  • How old they are,
  • Who their teacher is,
  • Some of their favourite things including:
    • Song,
    • Food,
    • Hobby,
    • Movie,
    • Color / Colour,
    • Activity, and
    • TV Show.
  • Who they want to be when they grow up,
  • What year it is, and finally
  • What day of the week it is.

All really simple things for the kids to do, but all designed to help them either get to know their classmates, or feel a little less anxious about being in school.

We also have a slightly less colourful version of the worksheet in case this helps with the printer ink at home or in school.

As you can see from the final four images, we have Class and Grade posters for you – and you just need to add in the year for the children and your sign is complete.

Why not take a picture at home, and in the classroom and add to the family album.

These are also perfect back to school signs to use for the wall at school, or the yearbook or year photo wall.

We have again included less colour-intensive versions of the back to school signs to make it easier for you to print these out without spending a fortune on printer ink!

Why not combine this with our About me activity to help children have a think about who they are, and what makes them special and unique. A great way to start the year!

Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania.
