Witch craft for kids: Witch paper doll

Halloween is fast approaching, so we want to make sure that we have you covered for kids activities, and fun in the run up to what has to be one of our favourite seasons, we are sharing a witch craft for kids with you today; this is a simple paper-based craft which doesn’t require too much from the craft cupboard. In fact, you should have most of it already. It is really quite charming, so do bookmark or pin us for later when you need us!

We have a few different items required for this paper craft…

Witch craft for kids Materials

1. Colored craft papers,
2. Craft glue,
3. Sharpie,
4. Pencil, and
5. Scissors.

Instructions:

This is actually remarkably simple – once you have the witch paper doll template downloaded – it’s a doddle. Click on the image below to download the template for the craft.

Or here are the step by step instructions too…

1. Choose the paper and cut the templates out

Select different colored craft papers (I’m using black, purple, mint, orange and grey). Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers. Cut out the traced papers nicely.

2. Cut out the hair

Cut a slit along with the zigzag pattern inside the hair pattern.

3. Add the body to the hair

Slide the head part of the body base through the slit of the hair from the bottom side. Keep the top part of the slit to the front and the bottom part under the head part. Apply glue to fix the hair with the head.

4. Complete your witches hat and top

Attach the strips of the top and hat patterns to complete them.

5. Start making the dress

Grab the rectangle cut-out and attach the long strip along any one sides of the rectangle-shaped paper.

6. Pleat your dress

Create small and even accordion folds with the rectangle paper.

7. Put your top onto your witch

Attach the top pattern on the body part of the body base.

8. put your witch’s hat on

Attach the hat on the top side of the hair pattern.

9. Complete the witches face and add her skirt

Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes, nose and mouth of the paper witch. Bring either side of the accordion-folded paper’s width to the same width as the body base. Attach the shorter side of the folded paper on the bottom side of the body base.

There you have it – your witch is complete, and of course, you can add more details to the witch paper doll if you want to. This is a simple halloween craft for kids that will be worth doing again and again. You could even use the witches as bunting for a Halloween party if you wanted to!
