Free printable Halloween dominos for spooky family fun

Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to add some eerie excitement than with our Halloween dominos? These dominos feature festive designs, making them perfect for spooky game nights or creative crafts. Whether you’re using the ready-made pieces or making your own, this activity is filled with possibilities for a hauntingly good time. Meet our Halloween dominos

Our Halloween dominos set is filled with cute, but scary, characters that bring the Halloween spirit alive. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the designs:

Using your dominos

If you’re working with pre-cut dominos, setting up the game couldn’t be simpler:

  1. Print and cut them out: Follow the lines to cut out each domino piece. Make sure every rectangle features the word and the connected Halloween design.
  2. Laminate (optional): For longer-lasting fun, laminate the pieces. It’ll make the dominos sturdy and reusable for Halloweens to come.
  3. Play!: Use them just like traditional dominos. Match the images instead of numbers for a kid-friendly twist, or add your own spooky rules.

Create your own Halloween dominos

If you love a hands-on activity, you can also create your own dominos using the blank versions that come with this set. Here’s how:

  1. Print the blank template – These are empty dominos waiting for your creativity.
  2. Pick a theme – Choose characters, objects, or patterns you’d like to draw.
  3. Draw or stick – Use markers, colored pencils, or stickers to decorate each piece. Draw two different designs per domino.
  4. Cut and laminate (optional) – Cut out your personalized dominos, and laminate them for durability.

Ideas for your Halloween dominos

Not sure what to add to your blank dominos? Here are some festive ideas to get started:

  • Ghosts with silly or scary faces,
  • Bats flying under a full moon,
  • Haunted houses with creepy windows,
  • Cauldrons bubbling over,
  • Candy corn or trick-or-treat bags,
  • Frankensteins, mummies, or vampires, and
  • Your favorite Halloween movie characters.

You could also justb add Halloween themed words to make it a bit of a educational game too – making sure that you and the kids get the spellings right, and then you’ll need to recognise the words too.

Other creative ideas for using your Halloween dominos

As these are freebies, then you might want to use them in other fun and imaginative ways during the Halloween season:

  • DIY decorations: Use the dominos to decorate your party space. Hang them as a festive garland, scatter them across serving tables, or place them inside treat bags for a fun surprise.
  • Halloween-themed scavenger hunt: Hide the dominos around your house or yard, and challenge guests to find pairs. The winner gets a spooky prize!
  • Storytelling game: Lay out the dominos and use the images as prompts to create a collaborative Halloween story. This is a fantastic way to get everyone’s creative juices flowing.
  • Domino memory game: Use a double set of dominos to create a memory matching game. Turn all the pieces face down, and see who can find the most pairs.
