Why bother with Fathers Day

Father’s Day has a long and fascinating history, did you know its roots began in a mining accident?

Today, we celebrate dads for everything they do – working hard to provide their families with love and support. Kids, show your Dad how much you love him with a special Father’s Day card. Whether you make it from scratch or pick one out, let him know how much he means to you.

Don’t forget to get creative and let the man who’s done so much for you feel extra-special this year!

What are our Fathers Day cards for kids like

The first two pages of this pack are our cover sheet, and the instructions on how to make the cards; which we are going to reproduce for you as we share them.

For the first card, you need to add the sun’s rays in. Our second card is standalone, so no need to do anything with this one.

On the third and the fourth cards, add in pictures of fish using fingerprints.

For the last card, which includes a very cute image of a lion, add in the lion’s body. Again, you can get the kids to use fingerprints here too.

Why use fingerprints in your Fathers Day cards?

Father’s Day is one of the most special days of the year for kids to show their love for their dads! And what better way to do that than by making a personalised card? But wait, not just any card, a card made with their own unique fingerprints! This is a super fun way for kids to get creative and make something truly special for their dad. Fingerprints are something that only belong to them, and this makes the cards even more special and personal.

A child is holding a finger up to a colorful nail, creating a piece of art with their own helping hand.

Making fingerprint cards is also a wonderful chance for kids to express their creativity and imagination. The possibilities are endless when it comes to fingerprint art! Kids can experiment with different colors and designs, and even try making pictures using only their fingerprints. It’s also a great opportunity for younger children to practice their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. But most of all, fingerprint cards are a fun activity that kids can enjoy creating with their parents or siblings.

A fingerprint card is not just any ordinary card, it’s a personalised masterpiece that dads will treasure forever! When a dad receives a handmade card from their child, it means the world to them. These cards are not only a symbol of love, but also a tangible reminder of the special bond between a father and child. Each card is unique and has its own story to tell. So, if you want to show your dad how much you love him, grab some paint, a piece of paper, and get creative with your fingerprints!

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania.
