The juggling is over (for now)…and I need that top in my life!

[pullquote]Juggling work and family – the summer holidays are over…![/pullquote]

Phew – the summer holidays are over…

Oh no – the summer holidays are over…

Whatever your view, stark reality struck at 8.35am on Tuesday last week as my little girl trotted into Junior school for the first time without a care in the world, and Stuntboy took his place as “a big boy” in year 2.

I have spent the last 6 weeks frantically trying to manage this blog, while looking after the kids, sometimes its been a success, and sometimes you could hear the screaming in France.

I made the mistake of promising the kids that I wouldn’t use childcare this holiday, and we could work around my, erm, working around…..

Some days it was a success and we looked like this:

Juggling work and family: Happy

Sometimes it wasn’t, and we looked more like this:

Juggling work and family: Unhappy office

Except without the pristine hair and make-up of course. I don’t think my face has seen make-up since its wedding day *slight exaggeration*

Despite all of this, we have had a lot of fun, and I hope to share some of the activities that we came up with to keep the kids entertained on our holidays, both to the mountains in Switzerland, and to Disneyland Paris when I get my email inbox cleared.

I get over 200 messages a day (arrghhh), so I am not even going to tell you how many there were when I looked on Tuesday. Thank goodness the smartphone keeps them to a minimum during holiday time.

Near my kids very last day of freedom, we had a playdate with a lovely lady, and she gave Chatterbox a top which pretty much summed up the last few weeks we have had. It’s from C&A, whom I didn’t even know were still kicking about on the continent until I saw them in France a few weeks ago.

Could we have a more apt top for our return to blogging fun?

Juggling work and family: I love blogs top

Modelled by Chatterbox of course – she is nearly eight you know, as she keeps telling me.

And I know – where can you buy one? I do really wish I knew too.

Hope you have all had a good 6 weeks, what did you get up to, and did you manage to juggle work successfully.

Office piccies from freedigitalphotos.net, Chatterbox is my own of course :-D

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
