Dreamtoys 2021: Top toys for Christmas 2021

What toys are going to fly off the shelves this Christmas? We’ve got a sneak peak from the toy industry of the top toys for Christmas 2021 thanks to Dreamtoys. Even better, watch this space and we’ll be giving them away in a competition going live THIS WEEK, so join our giveaway alerts newsletter so you don’t miss out!

Not surprisingly, given kids joy at watching TV and the need to spend a little more time than we would like indoors over recent years, it is licensing that is driving the most popular toys this year. Star Wars, Jurassic World and Paw Patrol are all in the Top 12. Classic names, such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, and L.O.L. also make the list this year.

The Toy Retailers Association selects the list of the top 12 top toys for Christmas every year, and it is a great prediction for what the kids will want under the tree every year.

So what are the must haves for kids this year?

So that’s it – all with retail links so you can go get them NOW so you don’t have to buy lastminute, and they have all run out! 😂

There are actually 81 toys on the full list, with an average price point of £36; but the price range of toys from the full list means that everything from stocking fillers to big Santa gifts are catered for. There are L.O.L. Dolls at £10.99, right up to the rather funky Magic Mixies Cauldron, which this particular big kid is even a bit jealous of…

Believe it or not, over half (60%) of the toys that will be given to kids this year have been chosen by those doing the giving, rather than from wish lists that kids have given to Santa. So, even if your kids write those Santa Letters, that doesn’t mean it’ll guarantee them to get something from their list.

Despite the economic challenges that the global situation has brought, toy sales for the first 9 months of 2021 were up 9% compared to 2019. This is largely due, we suspect, to the boom in online sales as parents desperately tried to find entertainment for their kids indoors 😂
