What is Daniel’s Dreams: Monster Mountain about?

With an ever-changing world, our children are having to adapt to a new learning situation, a new way of living and a new way of life. Children’s mental health problems are never more prevalent than they are now.

Across the world, some children are finding themselves in mental health
crisis. We must do something to help, support and help them cope with a situation none of us were prepared for. But we also must think beyond that and recognise that mental health issues for children won’t just go away either.

Quite the contrary, it is fast becoming our world’s next biggest health battle.

It is for that reason that I wrote Daniel’s Dream.

Says Leanne Brown

The first in the series, this book explores new characters and introduces us to Monster Mountain. It sees Daniel, a shy boy, escaping life through his dreams. In his dreams, he meets monster characters. Daniel notices that the monsters are different, unique and suffer with mental health difficulties. It is up to Daniel to help the monsters with their issues.

However, Daniel is fast to notice that some of the issues the monsters suffer with relate to either himself, his friends, or people in his life. The story celebrates individuality, uniqueness, and difference.

Children are taught coping strategies, breathing techniques and they are not alone. It truly is a wonderful book that can help children far and wide. This first book covers the ideas of anxiety, but it also introduces us to characters who represent a range of mental health difficulties.

The next book in the series will cover depression and how children can identify with depression, how they can cope and how they can express themselves.

KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania.
