Lively Minds

Alison Naftalin is the founder and CEO of Lively Minds – a charity working to improve the lives of children living in poverty in rural Ghana and Uganda through sustainable early years education programmes. She started Lively Minds following a volunteer placement at a school in Northern Ghana where she saw children living in very poor villages were not getting the basic educational opportunities they need if they are to break out of the cycle of poverty. She wanted to find cheap, practical and sustainable ways to help, and to do this by developing local skills and empowering local communities so they could change their own lives for the better.
