Free shoe coloring pages: Design a shoe coloring activity

Is your little one into designing and decorating their shoes? They’ll love adding their favorite designs to each shoe coloring page in this digital download!

This is a collaborative post.

You might have noticed recently that we have been sharing a good deal of fashion activities on the site. We love to encourage kids to get creative with their clothes. Today we are sharing a simple, yet really fun, activity where we are using shoe coloring pages as a design activity for kids. Children can use their imaginations to design their own masterpieces.

Fashion design is a fabulous art activity for children as it helps them to develop loads of different creative and logical thinking skills. It’s also a great way to develop a little bit of understanding around color theory as well, which sounds a lot more complicated than it really is 🤣

The following shoe coloring pages consist of four designs and a cover page. Children are encouraged to design different types of shoes in a number of different styles, including:

What do the free printable shoe coloring pages look like?

As always, we want to make sure that you know what you are downloading when you click on the button below, so here is an example of some of the pages that you get within this pack.

Free Sneaker Coloring Pages

If your kids are sporty or athletic, they’ll love doodling on these printable coloring pages instead of their actual shoes…right?

The children are designing their own sneakers using the KiddyCharts shoe coloring page.

High Heel Shoes Coloring Sheets

These classic pumps are perfect for bedazzling in rhinestones, for coloring in shiny patent leather, or anything else your kids can think of!

The image is of a coloring page of a high heel shoe, encouraging the viewer to design their own version of the shoe.

Ballet Shoe Coloring Sheets

Young ballet dancers will love shading these free coloring pages with pale pink or their favorite color!

Block Heel Coloring Pages

We love a spot of vintage fashion, so felt the need to include a block heel shoe in with the pack so your kids’ designs can perhaps be inspired a little bit by 1960s/1970s psychedelic ideas and patterns. Kids of all ages can get really creative with these ones fi they want! Platform shoes do have a tendency to be bright and bold, so it’s an effective way to really get your kids thinking about bright colours and designs.

How to Use These Shoe Coloring Pages

These shoe coloring pages can be used as a class activity, too. We included names and classes on the sheets. To add texture to the shoes, you could get kids and your class to create a collage on the shoes, perhaps around a particular and relevant theme. Some suggestions are:

  • Sneakers – cut out sports magazine pictures and use these to decorate the sneaker,
  • Ballet shoes – how about exploring pictures and images of dance and the theatre and adding these to the ballet shoe as a collage,
  • Block heels – as mentioned before, platforms are all about the 1960/1970s, so maybe find some images that are relevant to this time and use these in a collage. What about being inspired by the Beatles Yellow Submarine and decorating the shoe accordingly, and
  • Women’s heels – explore images of women through the ages, and how their roles and portrayal has changed in the media and make a collage from these.

You can also have students decorate their pages of shoes in different colors to express their creativity. Print out all 4 pages for a handy coloring book for a budding fashion designer, too!

They may just be shoes, but decorating them using collages and colors within different themes can really help bring the activity to life.
