#SunFun – The Honeymoon period is over….

Generally, I prefer one-liners…but this was on a close friend’s facebook status this week, and it made me chuckle rather. Thanks to Mammasaurus for hosting this week – do check out the others for a giggle!

Enjoy.

A young couple got married and went on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride immediately called her mother.
“Well”, said her mother, “so how was the honeymoon?”
“Oh mama”, she replied, “the honeymoon was wonderful! So romantic”…
Suddenly she burst out crying.
“But, mama, as soon as we returned, Sam started using the most horrible language — things I’d never heard before! I mean, all these awful four-letter words! You’ve got to take me home!! PLEASE MAMA !”
“Sarah, Sarah”, her mother said, “calm down! You need to stay with your husband and work this out. Now, tell me, what could be so awful? WHAT four-letter words?”
“Please don’t make me tell you, mama,” wept the daughter.
“I’m so embarrassed, they’re just too awful! COME GET ME, PLEASE!!”
“Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so upset. Tell your mother these horrible four-letter words!”
Sobbing, the bride said,
“Oh, Mama…, he used words like: “DUST, WASH , IRON, and COOK…””
“I’ll pick you up in twenty minutes,” said her mother.

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters.
