Win Superheroes Don’t Get Scared to help your child deal with their fears

We have another giveaway for a brand-new picture book which aims to normalise fear and help children realise there’s a hero inside all of us. We actually have THREE copies to give away. This giveaway is for a book that is particularly helpful for any child feeling nervous about going back to school, but works for any fears your children may have. Superheroes Don’t Get Scared (amazon affiliate link), by Kate Thompson, illustrated by Clare Elsom (RRP £6.99) is published by Upside Down Books, and is aimed at children aged 5-7 years.

This post includes Amazon affiliate links.

Superheroes Don't Get Scared

The story follows scared Maisie Brown, who dreams of being a fearless superhero because they never get frightened, right? But when Dad explains that even the strongest, boldest and bravest hero can sometimes feel afraid, and that’s perfectly fine, Maisie realises there’s superhero in all of us.

With fun characters and a wonderfully relatable take-away message about normalising feelings, this heart-warming book is an amazing addition to any little hero’s bookshelf.

The rhyming text, by solicitor turned children’s book author Kate Thompson, is brought to life by illustrator Clare Elsom, who uses a fun comic book style which appeals to children and adults alike.

Superheroes don’t get scared

We feel that any child who struggles with fear or anxiety will benefit from the clear messaging that it’s ok to be scared within this book, and the only way to show bravery is to face your fear. Do take a look and see for yourself.
