Stuntboy has ear issues; as well as having lots of other not sitting still issues, and general jumping about issues.

He’s had two operations to insert grommets, and his adenoids removed; and sadly we are now back to not quite hearing properly. Though I have to admit I suspect some of that is to do with his tendency to zone out my voice…

He has been complaining of a blocked nose at night during his slightly less active moments.

Usually we just whack a Karvol decongestant plug-in on when this happens, but we’ve run out of the refills to go inside them. So that means we need to restock the medicine cabinet to make sure that we have all the pills and potions for his inevitable colds, ear infections, and general misery; poor lamb.

I shan’t mention WHY we have run out though; suffice to say my memory isn’t always that great and the whole top floor sometimes ends up smelling like I am making the stuff myself with moth balls… *ahem*

Havin check through our medicine cabinet, it is actually pretty well stocked aside from the cold and ear stuff, we have all we need for our basic medical kit for kids:

Nurofen, or other fever medication
Nit comb
Threadworm pills, which thankfully we have never had to use
Plasters
Savlon for the inevitable scrapes, and
Thermometer.

However, we are sadly lacking where my sons ears are concerned. Time to do what I usually do in these circumstances, nip across into town and visit Boots to get it sorted.

After setting out for the second time because I am a complete Princess Forgetti and I left my purse behind, I visited the store, only to be informed by the lovely lady at the counter that the factory that made Karvol has burnt down; go figure!

So that means we will have to make do with a nasal spray for un-blocking my son’s nose. You appear to be able to buy one to give them at the first sign of a blocked nose that works to defend against the coming cold. Who knew? So that’s a must for my medical kit now. Anything that can keep the need to restock on tissues works for me.

Hopefully, this will remove the flood. Otherwise, we may need to send in fairy re-enforcements to help out – they seem to have created these rather fetching hats to help; not really sure its gonna work, but they’ll give it a good try. If the fairy mission fails, then we’ll be back to the Boots store for the Calpol plug-ins instead, thanks to my rather fetching Google Plus album I shall be able to find them this time!
