Top 20 parenting blogs: Really, us? *Plus blog awards again*

Top 20 parenting blogs: I know, but it means something to me!

Top 20 parenting blogs: I know, but it means something to me!

Arrrghhhhh, thud. Yep, I fainted again *dusts self off.* That has actually happened a fair bit in the last year since I started this blog. However, we have now officially landed; I don’t know how, but just over a year after I created this blog, we are now in the top 20 parenting blogs in the UK according to the eBuzzing rankings *sounds of corks popping.*

{Additional note: as of 5th July 2013 – we are actually SIXTH in parenting blogs, and in the top 25 for ALL UK BLOGS….so when I wrote this I thought we wouldn’t stay there, and we didn’t. However, it appears we have kept on going up…!}

It’s been a tough slog, and hopefully we will stay there, but we can at least say we are there, so if next month I am scrapping KiddyCharts off the bottom of the parenting blogs pile, I can look back on the good times.

So thanks readers for your support, your time, and your comments; it has all helped us massively. I know that we wouldn’t be where we are without you all.

So you can raise a glass yourselves as well; you helped us get here.

Cheers everyone!

Incidentally *dropping it in slyly so no-one really notices*, you may have spotted the nominations badge for The MADS Blogging Awards 2013. We were lucky enough to be a finalist last year in the small business category. However, this year that appears to have been given the push…

It would be wonderful if you can help us with this again. Not sure where we fit now though, but possibly in the most innovative blog for our clever online sticker charts, but who I am to presume!

There are some great blogs out there, here are just a selection that you might want to consider as well:

  • Baby Budgeting – Best Thrifty
  • Mammy Woo – Best Writer
  • Actually Mummy – Best School Days
  • Coombe Mill – Family Fun
  • Stickers, Stars and Smiles – New Blog (confession – this is mine as well, hint hint)
  • Dorky Mum – Best Blog Photography.

But, as ever, the choice is yours. You have until 18th Feb to get those nominations in…so go go GO!

Do you pay attention to rankings in the parent blogging world? Does it matter? Would love to hear from you, particularly if you are a PR or an SEO person!

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
