We’ve been short-listed for the MAD Blogging Awards: Queue (nearly) naked jumping!

My iPad beeped last night after I had gone to bed. Oops.

Brad grumbled (quite rightly), and I frantically fumbled around in the dark trying to turn the dam thing off. I noticed it was a Twitter notification, but didn’t actually bother to read it.

Little did Brad know the reason for the disturbance. And neither did I until about 8am the following day.

Behaviour Charts in the finals of the MAD Blogging Awards!

I finally checked my phone while I was trying to juggle the usual morning chaos. We were at the getting dressed stage; both of the kids and me.

“Oh my God, KiddyCharts made it through to the finals!”

To which both children stopped and stared at me

Thankfully, at this point I was dressed, I assure you. However, they had very little on, and looked at me as if something fun had happened but they weren’t quite sure what.

So I told them in a bit more detail that my Blog had made it though to the finals of the MAD blogging awards in the Small Business Category. No mean feet with over 2,000 blogs involved in the awards.

Now I am pretty sure that they didn’t have a clue what on earth I was talking about. But I was grinning quite a lot….

Naked celebrations (well sort of)

And because I was grinning, it was clearly important, and clearly something worth getting very excited about. So much so, that mummy would probably not mind a bit of over-enthusiastic bouncing.

So both of them grinned very widely back at me and jumped up and down in excitement…alot…

Wearing not much more than their pants, of course.

It was a wonderful image that made me smile for the rest of the day.

So thanks lovely people for nominating me and helping me to get this far, and for giving me that fantastic mummy moment too.

More Naked Jumping Please

And all I am asking now, is that we can re-create this jubilation after the final awards ceremony in September.

So for my sake, and so there is more (nearly) naked jumping in the world, please can you vote for me in the Small Business Blog Category before the voting closes on the 6th June, at 5pm. Hop on over to the MADS page, check out some of the other fantastic blogs to read on there, and then pop a “yeah” in the box for us.

We could all do with a bit more semi-clad jumping in our lives.

This blog has only been going for four months, and my business almost a year. The writing here is all about my business, being a working mum, my children and how that all fits together rather chaotically into my life. Brad, my totally blog confused husband, features in a guest role every now and then too. This blog was meant as a way of getting my business noticed, venting my parenting frustrations, and just writing stuff down because I quite like doing it. I never expected people would like what I write too.

Thanks to @coombemill for being the one to let me know I had made it. Brad forgave the late night beeping!

And apologies if this post isn’t good blogging ettiquette. I haven’t a clue about etiquette. Always sounded like a French nightclub to me? So if I am not supposed to ask for votes. Sorry and oops.

Good luck, one and all. I know the other ladies in the category through the wonderful world that is Twitter, @coombemill, @littlesheep, @MummyWhisperer and @Pamper_Oxon otherwise know as Bizzy Mum, and I can’t wait to meet them on the 28th September. I am wishing everyone much luck. We’ve all done great to get as far as we have. *reachesoutandpatseveryonesbackthenpourswine*

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
