Free Dayre app: Blogging for uber busy people

Dayre Logo

This is a sponsored post as per our disclosure policy; all opinions are my own.

I have a new toy this week…

And no, I don’t mean that I have been playing with my kids scooters again; I have the pleasure of being chosen as one of only 30 bloggers to test out the Dayre social media app. I am, apparently, an Alpha-Seeder for it; though that sounds a bit like something my daughter might come across in a game of Moshi Monsters, not an important role in the advancement of social media. I think you get what it means though; I am one of the lucky few getting to give it a proper test drive. So that means that I get to have a good old fashioned play with it, and if you come along – so do you!

What is Dayre?

Dayre is a brand new iPhone app for people just like me; busy people – mums, dads, business owners, working parents, teenagers, grannies, anyone really who simple doesn’t have the time to sit down and write a full blog post. It allows you to capture key moments in the day, which can then be combined to make your day’s post. You can use anything to mark your moments in the day including:

  • Video
  • Photos
  • Quotations and thoughts
  • Check-ins, and
  • Cute wee stickers that Dayre provides for you showing your mood, or what you are up to. As you can see the pictures on there are actually rather cool….

Where do I get Dayre?

It’s an app, so guess what – you can download it FOR FREE at  iTune stores, or as an Android app from Google Play; it’s as easy as one..two..three. *honest*

Why not get the app, register, which you can do with your Facebook account if you have one, and then follow me as KiddyCharts on Dayre as I explore and enjoy my journey with the App over the next 6 weeks of the “seeding” ;-).

The functionality of the app enables people to comment on posts, like them, and share them on other social media as well; so it’s fully connected to other big social networks in your life such as Facebook, and Twitter.

What will Dayre do for me?

I have been using the App for just this week, and have already discovered the power of the micro blog! There is nothing that isn’t fair game to be dayre-d ;-)

It seems a great way to store your memories, and keep track of yours and other people’s lives without having to sit down and take too much time out from your day. In fact, it’s a wonderful way of keeping a diary for you, and everyone else. Its Twitter on speed!

I can tell that I am going to be capturing a lot of my kids antics on there already. Stuntboy is a prime candidate for a bit of dayre-ing from time to time methinks….

What do you think to Dayre? Have you downloaded it yet onto your iPhone or Android smart phone…if not, why not give it a go. Follow Dayre and KiddyCharts on Twitter too to see what else is happening with the app. Go on, be a first mover!

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
