1. The promoter of this prize contest is Philips Lighting B.V., High Tech Campus 45, 5656 AE, Eindhoven , The Netherlands. Based on the E-commerce Directive 2000/31/EC of the EU, this competition is held under the application of the Dutch Code of Conduct regarding Sales Promotions (“Gedragscode Promotionele Kansspelen”)
  2. The prize contest starts 26/11/2013 and ends 03/02/2014.
  3. Entry to the prize contest is open to all users of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest who reside within the UDA, Canada or the EU, excluding employees of the worldwide Philips group of companies their families and anyone professionally connected to the promotion. Minors need permission from a parent or guardian. Philips reserves the right to written proof of consent required.
  4. By entering the prize contest you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. To enter the prize contest, entrants must upload an image of a childhood drawing of a monster to one of the following social networks along with the hashtag #NotSoScary: Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook. Submissions must be an original artwork or drawing of a monster, created by a child. Each entry must be hand drawn by the child, must be completely the child’s own original work and must not copy any other work. Unfortunately, drawings which copy other artwork will be disqualified. Children may use drawing packages on a computer or tablet so long as no part of the design is computer enhanced or generated. So for instance, the use of clip-art is not allowed.
    1. Competition entries to Facebook must be uploaded as a post to the www.facebook.com/seewhatlightcando wall. Facebook entrants must also complete and submit their details to the form on the competition Tab https://www.facebook.com/seewhatlightcando/app_553594038066791
  6. The upload of a children’s drawing of a monster in combination with the hashtag #NotSoScary across any of the named social networking platforms identifies the uploader as an entrant into the competition.
  7. Data collected through the Facebook app will be accessed solely by Philips Employees and used solely for the purpose of contacting competition winners about their Prizes. Once all competition activities have concluded this data will be deleted.
  8. The competition Prizes are structured as follows:
    1. 1st prize: One trip to Disney Land Paris (for EU winners) or Disney World Florida (For USA and Canada). The prize will allow 2 day access to the Disney theme park and one overnight stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Travel costs to and from the park are included in this prize. Philips will arrange travel and overnight accommodation. Meals are not included.  Tickets will expire 1 year after the close of the competition.
    2. 2nd Prize: Eight 2nd prize winners will receive a Philips Disney SoftPal.
    3. 3rd prize: Ten 3rd prize winners will each receive a plush toy. This toy will be a hand crafted recreation of the monster drawing submitted as a part of their entry.
  9. Winners will be selected by a panel of 3 judges from within the Philips Lighting business group.
  10. Criteria: All judging will be done to the following Criteria
    1. Creative – The drawing be creative, colorful and imaginative
    2.  Original – The drawing must not reference other existing creations and must display a high degree of originality
    3. Style –The drawing must feel childlike in its simplicity
    4. Positive – Dark and negative expressions should be avoided. The judges will be looking for joyful images.
  11.  Combined recommended retail value of all Prizes is €1,550. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
  1. An individual may enter the competition multiple times by submitting multiple, original images. The submission of the same or similar images through one or more competition entry points will only be counted as a single entry. The prize contest is free of charge and Philips will take charge of e.g. postal costs.
  1. We reserve the right to disqualify or reject any entry we believe to be in conflict with our promotion or not made in good faith or on other reasonable grounds.
  2. No cash alternatives will be offered.
  3. Philips will pay any Dutch gaming taxes due. Any individual income taxes payable by a prize winner are not paid or compensated by Philips.
  4. Notification shall take place privately via email, comment or direct message within 5 days of the prize contest completing.
  5. Prizes must be claimed within 1 week of the date of notification. All rights to prizes not claimed within this period shall be lost. Prize winners may need to verify their proper identity before claiming prizes.
  6. Names of prize winners shall be made available to entrants who did not win any of the prices, on receipt of a request to lightcommunity@philips.com
  7. We may cancel or amend the terms of this prize contest and promotion at any time by publishing notice of the relevant details.
  8. We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform due to any event beyond our control. Proof of posting will not be proof of delivery.
  9. You may not transfer or otherwise deal with any of your rights or obligations acquired under or in connection with these terms and conditions. Winners’ details may be announced by being published on the Philips social media page and by entering this prize contest the participant grants his or her approval for this publication.
  10. Your name and email address will be used by Philips only to notify winners. We shall not supply it to third parties.
  11. To this prize contest the privacy notice of Philips is applicable.
  12. These terms and conditions will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of The Netherlands. This prize contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of The Netherlands. When you enter into this prize contest, you must make sure that by entering this prize contest, you are complying with the local laws in your country of residence. In case your participation is held illegal according to your local laws, your participation is held invalid.
  13. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for any disputes, claim or cause of action arising out of, or relating to or in connection with this prize contest, including any disputes relating to the prize contest, provided that you agree to submit any such disputes, claims or causes of action exclusively to the courts of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
  14. If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remaining provisions shall be enforced.
