We know that some of our readers like a wee bit of cooking…we do ourselves, though we aren’t known for our Delia Smith tendencies; well except at Football matches.

Despite my belief that I am not going to win the Great British Bake Off anytime soon, the kids and I still regularly bake together. In fact, we made muffins this week, and I am going to be tackling Ice Cream over the weekend *wish me luck*

Memories of baking with MY mum have stayed with me, and it’s those memories that encourage my un-usually reticent self into the kitchen – to those create memories in my own kids too. Hopefully they will remember the ones where the cake does rise, and the shortbread doesn’t spread worryingly across the baking tray…

To celebrate our childhood baking experiences Renshaw Baking is encouraging you to share those experiences in a new survey on the Renshaw Baking blog. There are some great incentives for you to fill out the survey:

  • First 100 entrants will get a FREE Primary Colour Icing Multi-Pack, comprising five 100g packs of ready to roll icing in red, yellow, blue, green and black. That means that there is no excuse for not getting creative in the kitchen
  • Everyone that fills in the survey will also get a 15% off voucher for Renshaw Baking regardless of whether you were the 5 or the 5000 entry; so what are you waiting for, answer the quick 5 minute survey for your voucher so you can GET CREATIVE with your kids!

Hop on over to the blog and FILL OUT THE SURVEY on your childhood baking habits, and the baking that you do with your children now too. The closing date for entries to the survey is 11th March.

Lets inspire a new generation of Chefs, and if we can’t do that, lets give our children something wonderful to remember from their time with their parents in the kitchen; whether its licking the wooden spoon, or taking that first bite from a freshly baked muffin. :-D

Alternatively, the survey is below for you to give a go too!

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters.
