Drinking, blogging and sitting on ski poles…

Brilliance in Blogging Awards: Vote for KiddyCharts

Nominate my mummy for a Brilliance in Blogging award otherwise we might not be able to go skiing again! ;-)

This last week my kids have mostly been skiing – and I have mostly been messing about with my blog.

I don’t ski; I do believe that I mentioned my skiing holiday with the kids last year where my little ski mice put me to shame on the slopes. This year, we have taken a little more of sensible approach to the fact that mummy isn’t a fan of ski-ing.

I haven’t skied – and despite the fact that ski-ing looks so effortless for other people – my husband and my kids included – for me, it is about as enjoyable as balancing on a ski pole on one’s bottom.

Not something I want to spend a week doing.

However, I do want to spend a week reading, going to spas, playing with my blog, drinking fizzy pop and eating ice cream in places that allow me to stay socially connected. Ski resorts seem to have an abundance of these things, as well as snow, chips and the odd hot dog.

It is therefore with much pleasure that I seek to gain a few more votes for myself in the wonderful Britmums Brilliance in Blogging awards this year, in either the social media or innovate categories.

The blog has proven to be both socially savvy and innovative for many reasons, from my giveaways section helping other blogs to get more exposure for their giveaways, to the charts that we are now offering for free. We hope to continue to provide these services to as many people, parents and bloggers as possible without having to charge anyone a penny.

Most importantly though, if we don’t continue to find success, the kids will never be able to ski again as then what on each would I have to do while they throw themselves down these beautiful mountains?

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
